Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum (National Museum), set in its historic building, is the largest and most important Museum in the Netherlands. It is the largest in terms of its building and size of collections. Each year, the museum attracts more than a million visitors. The Rijksmuseum features an extensive and famous collection of works by Rembrandt (the Night Watch), Vermeer and Frans Hals, sculptures, archeological artefacts, historical prints, Asian art and much more. The items in the Rijksmuseum collection cover the entire spectrum and together form a single historical memory. The collection comprises of hundreds of thousands of objects from the past, which together give a visual account of the Netherlands' history within a global context.
The museum is located between the Stadhouderskade en the Museum square in the Amsterdam district Oud-Zuid and offers you an overview of the Dutch Art and history in its over 200 halls.
